Amanda Fuchs received a BA in Anthropology from Stony Brook University and an MA from Hunter College, CUNY, where she focused on ecological niche modeling of the genus Papio. She is currently a PhD student in Anthropology at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Her main interests are baboon biogeography, movement ecology and spatial cognition, geographic information systems (GIS), and conservation biology. Her dissertation will focus on her research on Kinda baboons (P. kindae). In her free time she runs a non-profit, grassroots scholarship project for vulnerable and orphaned secondary school students in Ruarwe, Malawi.
